NSW: 'I know nothing', Tripodi says of allegations against mate

SYDNEY, Feb 20 AAP - NSW government minister Joe Tripodi has denied any direct involvement
in the appointment of a political friend who is facing corruption charges, to a $200,000-a-year
job.

Joe Scimone, a senior NSW ALP official, is facing an allegation that he paid $30,000
to conmen posing as Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) officers offering
to destroy evidence against him.

The allegation dates back 18 months to when Mr Scimone was working for Wollongong City Council.
