NSW: State govt keeps public inquiry results secret report
SYDNEY, Feb 27 AAP - The NSW government has kept secret dozens of publicly funded reports
and the findings of two major inquiries, it was reported today.
And more than $410,000 of taxpayers money was being spent by the Carr government on a court
battle to keep those and other documents secret, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
In one instance, the government shelved 1997 public inquiry findings, which recommended
further peat mining in the Wingecarribee swamp near Bowral, for so long that by the time it
was made public a few weeks …
