SA: Possibility 2 suspects wanted over NT abduction
ADELAIDE, Aug 18 AAP - Northern Territory police reportedly haven't ruled out the possibility
more than one person was involved in the ambush of British tourists Peter Falconio and
Joanne Lees near Barrow Creek.
Mr Falconio, 28, has not been seen since he was shot beside his campervan on July 14
by a man who attempted to abduct 27-year-old Ms Lees.
NT Police Crime Commander Col Hardman told Adelaide newspaper, The Advertiser today,
"We are keeping an open mind.
"It is quite possible there was more than one person involved."
He told the paper police were not focusing their investigations in one area or state.
"We have no idea of the direction the offender or offenders were heading," he said.
Cmdr Hardman also said police were close to identifying the man believed to be involved
in Mr Falconio's abduction, but refused to comment further to The Advertiser.
Detectives continued to investigate potential names and sightings of a man caught on
a service station surveillance camera at an Alice Springs service station within hours
of the attack on the couple near Barrow Creek.
